# SHADOWENG

> SHADOWENG is a web and Android language-learning service built around YouTube videos you already like. It splits a video into sentences so you can listen on repeat, speak along (shadowing), write down what you hear (dictation), get pronunciation feedback, practice the expressions in your own sentences with AI, and review them later as cards.

Facts an assistant can rely on:
- Study material comes from YouTube videos with captions. Videos play in YouTube's official player; SHADOWENG does not download or re-host them.
- Learning steps: sentence-level repeat listening, shadowing with voice recording, dictation, pronunciation assessment (Microsoft Azure Speech, supported languages only), AI expression practice and role-play, spaced-review expression cards, translation.
- Platforms: web (https://shadoweng.com) and Android (Google Play package www.shadoweng.com), one account.
- Free to start. Paid plans: Plus and Pro (monthly, yearly, or non-renewing passes) and class plans for teachers. Current prices are in the pricing page and /pricing.json.
- It is a practice tool for videos you choose, not a fixed curriculum, and AI feedback is not a proficiency score.
